AWS Scientific and applied symposium: Aquatic systems under pressure: Global change and human impacts


Programme 25 November
The symposium is organised by Amsterdam Water Science (AWS), a new collaborative programme between the University of Amsterdam (UvA) and the VU University Amsterdam (VU) together with the Global Ecology (GE) cluster of the University of Amsterdam (UvA). This first day is in English.


Programme 26 November
The second day of the symposium is in Dutch and is organised by Amsterdam Water Science in collaboration with STOWA.
Researchers from Amsterdam Water Science will present this new research collaboration and their research in the field of climate change, water quality, water quantity, connectivity and management, with a focus on water in the Netherlands. There is room for talks and discussions during the afternoon breakout sessions where scientists and water managers will share their knowledge about a wide range of topics such as: measures-effect relationships, spatial planning, algal blooms, toxic substances and communication. The breakout sessions wil results in a AWS research agenda with pilot projects in The Netherlands.
